Battlesystems

Set up battlesystems terrain for the first time. It's great and totally immersive!

CCG

Got the whole Dredd CCG. No need to collect.
Just need to sleeve them an download the rules before playing.

Custom Markers

Got a bunch of custom markers made by LITKO. Filled in the text engraving with white crayon. Very easy to do and very effective.
I got multiple copies of each. Here's a pic of each type.
I also picked up the comics, the collected graphic novels, and the d20 version of the RPG plus modules. I also got the sequel to the 2012 film.

Citi def

I repainted the SWAT team from Wargames Foundry. They used to be green. Some of the first ones I painted.
Now they're urban tiger stripe. They look much better and more like citi-def from the 2012 film universe, than the comic style citi def Mongoose makes.
I'll be picking up more sculpts from the same range next month.

Tokens

Made some tokens/counters for Wasteman or Dredd from some conveniently plain black bottle caps (English cider), and chaos space marine transfers.
I roughed up the surface with an abrasive pad. This helps the varnish stick much better. Then plenty of gloss varnish and applied the transfer before it dried. Will apply more varnish over the top.
I'll be keeping more bottle caps and pimping them up soon.

Mega city scatter

Started the final batch of terrain. Control panels and a statue of Judge Cal.
Also finished off the resin control panel. It's very cool and will complement make the inside of the buildings look very cool.

Megacity shrubbery!

I used the hexagon terrain and some model train trees to make planters.
I also put out some terrain to see how it would look on the table.
Need a bit more work on the planters.

Megacity furniture

You may recognize this gentleman. He starred in the first Dredd film. I had a spare head from a large scale figure. I used the helmeted (and therefore correct) head. This one I thought would make a good bit of street furniture.
Not finished yet, but getting there.

Megacity billboards

I recycled a sign from the card terrain and I photoshopped another. Then I used "platformer" terrain to make a frame.
Black primer. Over-spray rust red and a light dry brush of Boltgun metal.

More signage!

I printed the signs on card. Used marker to colour the edges (black or brown) and the shop signs I put on plasticard (pre-primed black) and put magnetic strip on the back.
I also used Tamiya weathering kit to add Oil to the white bits of the signs.
The posters I stuck directly to the peachtrees interior and added tamiya Rust weathering.

Signage!

I printed some posters for peachtrees and signs for deadzone.

Peachtrees: the boxing!

I decided I'm pretty much done with the peachtrees main structure. I'll be making and painting street furniture from now on.
Here's what it looks like assembled..
My next task was to store it. I bought the same brand as I got before for deadzone, but the next size up.
It has straight sides and seems built for purpose almost. I got most of peachtrees  in it.
Now I need one more small box, same brand, for the bits I couldn't fit. Lots of space for packing material and scatter terrain.
Not much left to store at all. Also got a parcel trolley to carry some of these boxes around.

Peachtrees sign!

Had a window of time before work. I used magnetic strip (100yen/1 pound shop) to attach the signs.
The bottom 3 levels detach from the top 2, so the sign must also be detachable.
I polarized the pieces of magnetic strip using a stack of rare earth magnets on 2 corners. This makes the magnetic strip pieces line up with each other and keeps the sign straight.
I put another one on the other side but facing front so you can see a sign from front or side.
Also had a go at drybrushing white on the screens. Could be better but I reckon I'd better stop before I ruin them.
I'll add some weathering (tamiya weathering kit) on the buttons, make them a bit less bling. Hopefully get that done tonight.

Peachtrees controls and more!

Tonight I had just enough time to put more transfers on the control panels.

While it was drying I made another piece of street furniture using Platformer terrain by Pegasus. The Hexagon is far superior and doesn't need glueing.
With some spare plasticard and toy-firetruck ladders I made a big billboard.
It's a bit front heavy so I'll need to add stabilizers, probably from the deadzone spares.
Not sure what poster to put on there yet.

Peachtrees controls and doors!

First thing I did this morning was to hot-glue on the interior doors. These are deadzone doors that I painted last year. They don't clip onto the deadzone terrain so I put them aside for a rainy day. Today was that day, although hot and sunny. I expect they'll pop off at some point and need superglueing.
I put them on "upside down" because they look better that way.
After that I decided to tackle the screens on the control panels. I used white to paint charts on the smaller screens.
Then I used the white to base coat the buttons and lights.
When that dried I used a selection of bright colours to paint the buttons and lights.

Finally today I started applying transfers onto the bigger screens using clear gloss varnish and cheesy gundam transfers.
I'll add more text transfers to the blank parts of the screens and do a very light highlight dry brush to make them look more like screens. Hopefully tonight...
